The Company has established rules on the protection of Personal Information as stated below to safeguard all customers’ Personal Information in a responsible manner while creating internal systems, implementing and updating action plans, and continuously making improvements thereon.

 

■Policy on Personal Information

The Company enforces its procedural standard on the protection of Personal Information as it relates to Company-operated websites. The Company’s policy related to customer’s Personal Information that is handled on or through Company websites is as described below.

 

  1. Gathering of customers’ Personal Information: The Company may ask customers to provide Personal Information in connection with their use of services provided by the Company. In principle, the Company will not directly gather Personal Information from customers without their permission. In instances where the Company needs to request customers to provide Personal Information, the intended purpose of use or provision will be indicated clearly before the Personal Information is gathered (provided, however, that each customer agrees in advance that it may not be able to use some of the Company’s services if it refuses to provide the Personal Information as requested by the Company).

 

  1. Use of customers’ Personal Information: The Company may only use customers’ Personal Information for the purpose indicated in advance. If a need arises for the Company to use customers’ Personal Information beyond the scope of the purpose previously indicated when the Personal Information was gathered, the Company will notify the customers accordingly.

 

  1. Provision of customers’ Personal Information to third parties: The Company will not provide any Personal Information gathered from customers to any third party except in the following circumstances:

(1) if the customers’ prior consent or permission is obtained;

(2) if doing so is necessary for the Company to process payments or send documents, etc. in connection with the customers’ use, etc. of any fee-based service;

(3) if doing so is necessary for the Company to handle the customers’ inquiries or provide any after-sale service to them concerning the Company’s products or services; or

(4) if doing so is otherwise necessary for the Company to comply with any law, etc.

 

  1. If the Company needs to provide customers’ Personal Information to another company, etc. that is a third party pursuant to 3. above, the Company will contractually oblige the company to manage the Personal Information as properly as the Company itself is obliged.

 

  1. The Company may transmit or otherwise send customers any information relating to the Company’s current or future products, services, etc. that might be beneficial to them either by email or direct mail. If a customer prefers not to have such information sent, it may notify the Company of its preference, and the Company will stop transmitting or sending the information to the customer by email or direct mail.

 

  1. The Company strives to properly and cautiously manage all Personal Information gathered from customers and implements preventive and safety measures so that their Personal Information is always protected against unauthorized access, loss, destruction, falsification, divulgence, etc.

 

  1. If a customer intends to request a disclosure of its Personal Information that is registered with the Company, the Company will oblige such request after verifying the customer’s identify as the individual to whom the Personal Information pertains through the procedure as specified by the Company. If the customer finds any inaccuracy or error in the disclosed Personal Information, the Company will duly correct it.

 

  1. The Company will strive to conduct its operations pursuant to the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable rules.

 

  1. The Company will endeavor to continuously make improvements concerning the protection and handling of Personal Information.

 

■Notes to customers

The Company is not liable for ensuring the safety of customers’ Personal Information on any other websites that are hyperlinked from these websites operated by the Company (hereinafter referred to as “these Websites”). Therefore, each customer is advised to carefully review the terms and conditions pursuant to which its personal information may or may not be protected (which may be described as personal information protection policy, privacy policy, etc. depending on the website, but the keywords to identify them often include the terms “personal information” and “privacy”) on each external website, or even directly contact the department or the staff of each website operator that is responsible for handling such matters if no such terms and conditions are stated thereon to make sure that the Personal Information remains safe with them.

 

■Customers’ access logs

These Websites record user data in the form of access logs. Such access logs include information pertaining to the users accessing these Websites, such as their domain names and IP addresses, the types of browsers being used, dates and time of access, etc., but do not include any information that can be used to determine their identities.
